The Lentini Lab employs both experimental and computational methods to explore the mechanisms behind tumour evolution. We are committed to fostering robust clinical collaborations to ensure our research translates into meaningful benefits for patients. Join us in our mission to advance cancer research and improve patient outcomes.
Cancer evolves over time and space. We employ single-cell sequencing technologies to track these changes and resolve tumour heterogeneity. The work focuses on two key windows of intense evolutionary pressures.
First, we investigate early cancer formation and development, asking how initial mutational events shape downstream molecular trajectories and whether distinct oncogenic drivers give rise to predictable evolutionary paths and vulnerabilities. Second, we study treatment resistance development, exploring how variation in therapeutic sensitivity arises and to what extent resistance, and ultimately treatment outcomes, can be anticipated from the state of the primary disease.
